Matthew Babayev is a student in the Sophie Davis BS/MD Program and an alumnus of the 2023–2024 S Jay Levy Fellowship cohort. Through the fellowship, he was able to conduct microbiology research at Columbia University, an experience that helped shape his academic and professional trajectory. Now, as Vice President of the Alumni Board, Matthew hopes to build on the connections the fellowship has fostered and expand opportunities for students across all fields. Having gained clarity about his own career path through internships, he is committed to ensuring transparent access to similar opportunities for fellows so they, too, can gain direction and confidence in their pursuits.
