Carlo Invernizzi Accetti is Associate Professor of Political Science at The City College of New York. He holds a PhD from Columbia University, where he is also a Visiting Professor in the School of International and Public Affairs. 

He has published three monographs, two edited volumes, and over two dozen articles in top international peer-reviewed journals on topics such as: populism and technocracy, political ideologies and party politics in Western Europe and the United States, militant democracy, referendums, and the philosophical foundations of human rights.

He is also a regular commentator on European and US political affairs for venues including: The Financial Times, The Guardian, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The Wall Street Journal, La Repubblica, Quartz, Le Monde Diplomatique, and France 24.

He has been Executive Director of the S Jay Levy Fellowship Program since 2017, for which he also teaches the ‘Ethics in the Workplace’ class.

Lavie Margolin serves as Managing Director for the S Jay Levy Fellowship. Most rewarding to Lavie is observing the growth of fellows from students to industry professionals. Lavie is proud to root on fellows as they ascend the career ladder in fields such as medicine, engineering, technology and law. He obtained his B.S. in Marketing from Yeshiva University and an M.A. in Adult Learning from Empire State. Currently, Lavie is studying towards an EdD at Empire State. Lavie has been quoted for his expertise in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He is the author of Winning Answers to 500 Interview Questions.

Jona Avdiu serves as the Program Officer of the S Jay Levy Fellowship. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from The City College of New York and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. With a background spanning higher education, research, academic advising, and non-profit work, Jona brings a wealth of experience to her role. As a former fellow, she is proud to contribute to the ongoing success of the Fellowship. Jona is passionate about nurturing the professional and personal development of students, aspiring to make a meaningful difference in their lives, and serving as a steadfast advocate for student success.

Dr. Rivka Shoulson, DVM, MPH, DACLAM is the Director of Veterinary Clinical Operations at Columbia University’s Institute of Comparative Medicine and the fellowship’s Executive-in-Residence. Dr. Shoulson has a bachelors in animal science from Cornell University and a DVM from Mississippi State University – College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Shoulson went on to complete a residency in laboratory animal medicine while simultaneously earning a master in public health degree in molecular toxicology at Columbia University. Dr. Shoulson is also a Diplomat for the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DACLAM). Dr. Shoulson has a strong interest in mentorship, teaching, and training. Together with the fellowship’s leadership, she hopes to enhance the mentorship program while guiding students to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
